An opportunity has come up for the academy members to get international exposure, respect and knowledge on the dance stage in Atlanta, USA.

‘Dziah Dance Academy are fundraising to attend the ATLANTA “Culture Shock 2008″ event in October. We are the very first New Zealand showcase attending this prominent event and a rare opportunity like this is not to be missed for New Zealand!

Major fundraising will be taking place in order to get to Atlanta with our team having to fundraise $50,000! Phew!!! Members from each of our elite crews will be selected to represent the Academy in Atlanta, performing alongside some of the best choreographers in the world.

Dance Workshops will be held and Dance Academy’s from all over the world will come together for a week to conference, perform, network, and learn from the best!

DZIAH DANCE ACADEMY BACKGROUND & PERFORMANCE CREWS:

Dziah Dance Academy is leading the way in the street dance arena. Established in 2002, Dziah Dance Academy (DDA) has produced some of New Zealand’s best talent, whilst pioneering the way for future dancers.

DDA has set the standard in the past 4 years sending elite Dance Crew, DZIAH, to compete at the World Hip Hop Champs representing NZ. Being the first team from NZ to make the World Champs Final 2005 and ranked 2nd in 2006 has become one of the many highlights for the dance company. Recently Dejavu (NZ Junior Champs) our junior crew was the first junior crew in NZ to make the top 8 and ranked 6th in the 2008 World Hiphop Final this year.

Dziah Dance Academy will continue to lift the standard of it’s performers, and build the dance community within New Zealand as it has done for the past 5 years. From strength to strength DDA will continue to build and guide the desire to perform in our young upcoming talent.
